The Love Cafe - An in-home photography session by Lauren McAdam Geelong family photographer
As I was taking photos of this families eldest daughter in the cubby she casually told me, “We call this the love cafe'“ and pointed to the hand drawn sign etched on the wall next to the door. I thought it was the sweetest name, embodying everything that is a cubby. A place where happy memories are made and adventures start, a space that transforms into whatever you want, a cafe, a post office, a house to play ‘Mums and Dads’ in.
I remember the years spent in our childhood cubby. A special place for my sister and I built by my Dad, with painted blue shutters and matching curtains, lovingly made by my crafty mum. We had an abundance of fake food, an oven built by my Uncle and Grandad’s old sherry bottles. I remember periodically, organising a working bee, taking everything out, spraying for spiders, mopping the floor and tending to the garden out the front. And no doubt bossing my little sister to participate! So much fun was had.
I hope these two poppets look back at these photos in years to come and remember how much fun they had together in their backyard.
Take some time to look through the rest of the sessions images, showcasing their beautiful farm complete with Scottish Highland cattle, chickens and not only a cubby but a pretty cool fort!
Do you have a family farm and want to capture you daily life with the kids and animals? I am currently offering sessions at home and some of the suburbs serviced are: Belmont, Newtown, Armstrong Creek, Charlemont, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Jan Juc, Torquay, Moriac and Ceres. Not in one of these areas? No worries, I love to travel! Get in touch if you have any questions!
Luke and Jess are the sweetest couple. Hands down. The minute I walked into to their gorgeous Barwon Heads home, I was welcomed like a old friend. After being introduced to the newest member of the family, sweet little Bohdi, talk quickly turned to the story of how they met and Luke’s epic proposal.
